This herb is used almost exclusively in Mexican and Guatemalan cuisines, where fresh stems and leaves are occupied. It is a strong aroma and flavor plant (without being spicy) and very particular,you have to get used to eating it.

Use the epazote to flavor beans (especially black beans), rustic broths, seasoning sauces, dressings, casseroles, soups, creams and all kind of meat and fish. I can also be added to quesadillas, sopes, etc.

    Whole Black Beans with Epazote / Frijoles Negros con Epazote


    Ingredients
    1 can Whole Black Beans La Costeña 560 g
    1⁄2 chopped onion
    2 tsp Vegetable oil
    1⁄4 cup of water
    1 tsp salt
    1⁄2 spoonful Epazote Flakes Terana 26 g
    1⁄4 cup chopped fresh coriander

     

    Method:
    In a medium pot, add vegetable oil and bring the onion to golden brown. Add water, Epazote
    Flakes and let it boil. Add the Whole Black Beans and cook for 5 minutes. Serve on a bowl
    garnish with fresh coriander. Enjoy!
